Speaking of morning amusements
Back in the 70’s I was working at an MSS. Occasionally some guys from the
FCC would take a room at the hotel downtown.
They would get up real early, early enough to be awake and ready when the
taxis changed shift.
Out the door would go the taxis, saying “10-8″ on the radio before they got
to the street.
And before those crystal heaters had even gotten warm.
A few days later we would get a call from the taxi guy saying he had a
mailbox full of citations for off-frequency transmissions.
Man, it was good for business.
The FCC needs to go back to supporting the two way radio shops with action
like that.
